On the 5 January 2014, I had a taste of winter golfing in Beijing. It was sunny, but freezing cold, -2deg to 3deg. The course was barren, not a speck of green anywhere. The ponds were frozen. The ground frosty and hard like stone - so hard that the caddies have to use nails to make a hole in the ground to place the tees.
Trying to take a divot in the fairways was near impossible but when you hit good, the distance is unbelievable.
I really enjoyed the experience.
